1. A changeling is in between the natural and manmade. It understands nature has always been first.
Changelings recognize the power of nature. When given the choice between man-made or natural, they choose nature. However, they are not required to live seperate from man-made comforts, but only to live in a way that is benificial to the natural world. They try their best to use only their share of natural resources and to spend time apart from man-made comforts when possible.
2. A changeling is an extention of an ever-changing world. It does not box itself into one being, but moves fluidly between experiences.
Changelings do not define themselves by a single, unchanging aspect, and do not punish themselves for diverging interests from the norm. They do not struggle to put themselves in one category, but allow themsleves to move between aesthetics and lifestyles as suits them.
3. A changeling rejects the binary between modernity and tradition, for time makes no such distinction.
Changelings draw on the knowledge of all generations for insight, deciding for themselves what to take as advice. They are knowledgable in handcrafts and are able to complete basic repairs. They are expected to have an open but discerning mind, and to reject methods that cause themselves or others unneeded harm.
4. A changeling rejects material wealth and those who posess it.
Changelings understand that wealth isolates people from others and seek to avoid it. They are not prohibited from owning posessions, but they do not seek to gain purely for wealth's sake.
5. A changeling recognizes when to speak and when to listen. It never stays silent at anyone's expense.
Changelings do not talk idly or gossip, but seek inteligent and respectful conversation. They do not stay silent when speaking would prevent or mitigate harm, and they do not speak when it would disturb introspection and peace.
6. A changeling refuses to be trapped in a digital world, seeking tangible experiences over digital torpor.
Changelings know that the digital world isolates people from one another under the guise of connection. They seek tangible, natural expereinces frequently, moving freely outside of the rigid conventions of productivity and media. When they do engage with the digital, they do so critically and seek media that challenges their beliefs and their skills. They do not sit idly, doing nothing.
7. A changeling rejects outward looks in favor of introspection. It is unafraid to be messy in search of freedom and knowlege.
Changelings are not defined by looks. Mess and ugliness are part of nature and are embraced as liberators. They do not judge others by appearances, but by actions.
8. A changeling cultivates within itself curiosity, empathy, and playfulness. It does not reject the inner child in favor of sophistication.
Changelings understand that youth is a spirit, and seek to cultivate childlike curiosity and creativity. Rejecting the inner child is rejecting the soul and accepting rigid sophistication.
9. A changeling understands and embraces imperfection. It knows perfection is unattainable, yet it persists. A changeling does purely for the joy of doing.
Changelings do not punish themselves for being imperfect and failing to live up to high expectations. They know that life is a constant learning process. They do not expect perfection from others nor demand it of themselves, but strive toward balance.
